On Sunday, 30th September, YOKKAO Next Generation headed to the southern island of Phuket. The event was held at the famous local arena, Bangla Boxing Stadium. YOKKAO Next Generation Phuket gave young, promising fighters a stage to showcase their skills with opportunity to be talent-spotted for international events and wider global exposure.
Thonsai from the YOKKAO Kids Fight Team was one of the fighters featured on the fight card. The young talent trains at YOKKAO Training Center Bangkok, and has clocked over 20 wins in around 30 fights to date. Thonsai delivered a solid performance, finishing the fight in round 4 with a TKO win via referee stoppage.
The main event featured Manachai who took on Phetnarin, a Max Muay Thai champion. After dominating in the first 3 rounds, the YOKKAO fighter turned up the heat in round 4 by unleashing a barrage of his signature low kicks. The relentless strikes left Phetnarin crumbling onto the canvas just barely 10 seconds into the round.

The YOKKAO Seminar was first launched in December 2011 with the events conducted by famous Muay Thai fighters who impart techniques and their signature moves. Some of the stars who have led the seminars include Buakaw Banchamek, Sudsakorn Sor Klinmee and Saenchai.

It’s been a long time coming for YOKKAO’s bright young star, Manachai but his long-awaited title shot has arrived. Come 29th October, he will take on Brazilian fighter, Julio Lobo for the coveted WBC Muay Thai World Welterweight title at YOKKAO 34.

After being denied the Channel 7 Stadium belt in February despite his win, and a cancelled match against Rambo Pet Por Tor Or for the Champion of Thailand belt in March, Manachai is looking once again to get his deserving title shot. It’s been a long wait for the YOKKAO star and Manachai has taken to his Instagram to call out current Lumpinee 147lbs Champion, Rafi Bohic for a title match. The 2 welterweights were originally supposed to face off in May but the fight had to be postponed as Manachai had already committed to All Star Fight in Hong Kong. The date has been confirmed and the highly-anticipated YOKKAO 35 - 36 is set to take place on 26th January 2019. Organized in partnership with Thai Boxe Mania promoter, Carlo Barbuto, the event also marks the 7th anniversary of YOKKAO Extreme 2012 - the inaugural show that saw a record-breaking 12,000 attendees. Just days fresh off his stunning win at All Star Fight 5 in Prague on 6th July, Manachai has resumed his intense training schedule. The young fighter made a detour from Prague to Italy where he is now at the Team Satori Nemesis Gorizia gym. The YOKKAO Thailand Fight Team has done it again! Over the weekend, fighters from YOKKAO took to events in Thailand and beyond to deliver respective victories in the various arenas. It’s a spectacular 3 wins in a row for the team within a space of two days! YOKKAO young star, Manachai kicked off the string of victories with his smashing performance on All Star Fight 5 at Prague, Czech Republic. On Friday night at the Tipsport Arena, the Thai fighter faced a towering Nauzet Trujillo from Spain. Despite the height and reach disadvantage, Manachai dominated the fight from the start to finish. The YOKKAO prospect was unrelenting in his offense, pushing forward constantly and unleashed a series of punishing low kicks that left Trujillo’s thighs burning red by the end. It was no surprise when Manachai was awarded the win via unanimous decision.

Along with trainer, Kru Petchdam and the rest of the All Star Fight crew, Manachai has arrived in the beautiful city of Prague, Czech Republic. All Star Fight 5 is set to go live at Tipsport Arena for what is guaranteed to be an evening of pure adrenaline. The weigh-ins for the event were conducted today. Manachai came in at 66kg while his Spanish opponent, Nauzet Trujillo weighed 65.9kg. Both of them making weight successfully for the fight that was set at 66 kg. All Star Fight’s key figure, Buakaw Banchamek weighed in at 69.9kg for the 70kg main event. His opponent, Michael Krcmar from Czech Republic also cleared the bar.
