Manachai Collects Another KO Victory in Phuket

After more than two months away from the boxing ring, Manachai returned to the spotlight as he headlined the card at Phuket’s Bangla Stadium on 3 April. He was matched against Starboy from Saengsingyut Gym in the main event of the evening.

The bout kicked off in a moderate pace with both fighters feeling out their opponents. The pace soon picked up in the second round as Starboy took to disarm Manachai’s offense, locking up the fight in the clinch. Starboy’s strategy was soon thwarted and dismantled. Manachai first countered with a series of takedowns, then unleashed a rapidfire of his signature low kick strikes that left Starboy crumbling onto the canvas. The fight ended at this point via referee stoppage and Manachai took home the win with 30 seconds left to the end of round 2.

The victory marks Manachai’s first win since his ankle injury but our young fighter is now back on trac

In a highly-anticipated YOKKAO 38 bout, Craig Coakley was originally matched up against UK super lightweight top seed, Nathan Bendon.
